Description:As Sue Gregory suggests, the building and garden labour accounts for Trentham in the 1630s refer to a high mount in the new gardens. In May 1634 fifteen shillings and three pence were paid to William Hunt ‘for getting 195 foote of flaggs & stepps for the high mount in the garden’.
